Fab Flats, a new found respect.

I love my heels, love them to death. I would wear them to bed if it wouldn't annoy me or hurt my poor husband. I went through my whole pregnancy with heels on and looking fabulous. It wasn't until recently where I have been forced to embrace wearing flats. I do actually own a couple of pairs, two actually. I do like them, but still prefer my heels.

It is so hard going from this to a flat shoe. I love how I feel in heels and love having that illusion that I am taller than I actually am. With heels if your pants are long it is ok, the heels fix that. With flats it makes your pants drag on the floor. That annoys the dickens out of me, I hate having my pants drag on the floor and getting damaged or wet. But, alas, I was pretty much taken out of them. After being in the hospital it was determined to not wear them perhaps. The doctors didn't say I had to stop wearing them in so many words. They did kind of say limited wear and being put on bed rest definitely helped with the no wear. I do wear shoes when I leave the home, but am more careful in my choices. Flats have become more common place for me. I figure now, if something were to happen, people around me would feel better.
However, that being said, let me say this in triage there were plenty of mama's wearing heels and doing just fine! So, there to anti-pregnant in heels wearers!

Now flats do not have to be boring or blah, they can be fun and funky like heels. Sometimes an outfit will look just as good with a pair of ballet flats. I am definitely going to add more flats to my closet, but I still love my heels. I do want to say that I have a new found respect for these little shoes and perhaps I even misjudged them.

fashion mama, brunch.

I have.  been thinking about what I am going to get after things settle down. When I can replace some of my clothes. I'm thinking a  cute shirt dresses for some great spring time fun. And they look comfortable, I am serious in saying I will NOT succumb to frumpty dumpty style. I could right now, but I wont. I still get dressed and do my hair(somewhat). I am trying to let my hair breath and not be tortured for a bit by my straightner.  I put together a great look that I can dream about wearing.
So cute and springy
I just wanted to also point out that yes there is girl stuff in the picture, but I wanted to put something there for girls too.

So fun to wear!

I love this outfit! I love the colors and just how much fun it is. Who said you can't follow the season's hottest trends when you feel like a bowling ball carrier. No one! Well, except maybe a few people. People that try to bring down a preggers confidence down, by saying it is a waste of money. I am sorry, but I am over justifying why I bought the clothes for my pregnancy as I have. And I am certainly not alone. I try to understand why some ladies hatematernity clothes. "I will never wear those ugly maternity clothes, I will stay in my regular stuff until I have to". Meanwhile, I am looking down at myself going, um, what is wrong with this? Nothing but compliments on my end. Oh well, perhaps it is that ugly beast rearing its head of horrible clothes long since gone.
But, designers have heard the plea, the cry for help. For God's sake we want stuff that fits well and looks good! Let us not go backwards let's go forwards, who is with me?! After all you don't  want to have this again, do you??
pIc from bellyitch the blog, did no one own a bra then?

spring look for day!!

Oh spring is around the corner and that comes with a new look, or updated part of the house. It also means spring cleaning and a new lease on life for the year. A way to start off fresh with a new wardrobe with some of the great looks of the season.
I just love this lime peplum dress by Badgley Miscka and the little bag by Marc Jacobs, along with the embossed leather sandals by Prada. Makes a great outfit for a nice spring or even summer day. Get out of the greys and blacks and put on your flirty florals with vibrant accents.
I love it and can not wait to get back into those clothes!!

Troubles in shoe paradise.

Has this ever happened to you? You're in a store to find a pair of shoes and none are in your size! Well it happens to me a lot...I mean a lot. It's like I was not meant to have a cute pair of shoes sometimes. And this phenomenon happens more when I really truly need them bad! Like for a wedding, or for an important event, or..just because I want them. Have any of you had this trouble? What could I do to make it better?

I am a size 7, well 7 1/2 depending on shoe manufacturer or store. So, I thought, why does this happen so much? I wondered if this was a very common shoe size. I did some research and was shocked at what I found. Are you ready for this? According to answers.com 9 to 9.5 is the average foot size for women in the United States. Really? Seriously? I thought it was 7.5-8 seems like women's feet are getting bigger?
Interesting as it is, there still never seems to be enough size 7 to 7.5 to go around.

What about this scenario, you are in a major dept store, you ask the sales associate for your size in a certain lets say Jessica Simpson platform. You watch them disappear into the back room, and they come back like what seems 5 years later? It's like they had to go to Narnia to find your shoes, by that time you are tired and just want to try them on and leave. Or in some cases just pick the darned things up and buy them, you can just return them later. You know there is that "30" day return policy, after all you are a busy person. Trust me; I know that pain all too well.
What’s worse about situations like that is if you hate shopping in stores or shopping in general.

Ok, I can think of a worse scenario, when nothing fits. Just go back to this posting and you will see what I'm talking about we have all been there.

So, what's the solution?

shoes to love

I have been thinking of what to write about now, hit a writers block or whatever you want to call it. And then it dawned on me while I was trying on a cute pair of nude platform heels at Target, write about these shoes! I was super excited about how cute these shoes were. I mean wow, who would have thought that a plain old pair of patent leather nude pumps would make you feel just awesome. They made me feel so "put together", I had been shopping for a cute dress for Easter and a wedding next month and found it! YAY. An adorable little turquoise dress that had pockets. Fit like a glove and I loved it! This was after trying on a cute pink baby doll dress and realized things just don't fit like they used to. Well, I needed shoes to go with it. I didn't want to do black cause well duh that's so obvious to do, or someone mentioned white. But,white just didn't seem like well what I needed. white would have just looked...um too Eastery? Or, they would have stood out much more than the black shoes. I walked with my friend around the isles and thought omg, nude shoes. I read somewhere that nude shoes look great with bright outfits and they can sometimes make you look taller. Hey, I am all for looking taller. So, I found some that I thought to try on and sure enough they made me feel amazing. I had never thought a pair of shoes like that could just be a great and necessary addition to any shoe closet or shoe arsenal. Well, they are indeed that! shoe rack

Well, I will be getting a new closet soon. There's a lot of space to hang things and fold and store clothes and purses. But, what I am most excited for is the shoe rack. It's more of a shoe wall than a rack for shoes. Its a wall of cubby holes for shoes, pretty awesome right? Well yeah! What an awesome thing. Lots of space for all my shoes and for my husband's. But now I have to go through my closet again, and look at my shoes and see what I want to keep and what I want toss. Awesome time for a garage sale right? As long as it stops raining. I have to think about how after I get rid of some things what to replace it with. Have to go through and get my mind into the whole "you haven't worn those in over a year" mode. I am also thrilled that everything will be organized, so very organized. I am not talking organized chaos, serious organizing. But before all that I need to find things that I can fill the cubby holes. Nothing better than going out to replace things especially shoes, and even better when there are sales. Lately though, I have been going to different dept stores and while I love looking at some shoes, they never seem to have my size. Went to Target, saw a cute pair of shoes and none in my size. So, I shop mostly online for shoes, not a bad idea right? The only downside is waiting, guess I got to relearn patience.
