Fab Flats, a new found respect.

I love my heels, love them to death. I would wear them to bed if it wouldn't annoy me or hurt my poor husband. I went through my whole pregnancy with heels on and looking fabulous. It wasn't until recently where I have been forced to embrace wearing flats. I do actually own a couple of pairs, two actually. I do like them, but still prefer my heels.

It is so hard going from this to a flat shoe. I love how I feel in heels and love having that illusion that I am taller than I actually am. With heels if your pants are long it is ok, the heels fix that. With flats it makes your pants drag on the floor. That annoys the dickens out of me, I hate having my pants drag on the floor and getting damaged or wet. But, alas, I was pretty much taken out of them. After being in the hospital it was determined to not wear them perhaps. The doctors didn't say I had to stop wearing them in so many words. They did kind of say limited wear and being put on bed rest definitely helped with the no wear. I do wear shoes when I leave the home, but am more careful in my choices. Flats have become more common place for me. I figure now, if something were to happen, people around me would feel better.
However, that being said, let me say this in triage there were plenty of mama's wearing heels and doing just fine! So, there to anti-pregnant in heels wearers!

Now flats do not have to be boring or blah, they can be fun and funky like heels. Sometimes an outfit will look just as good with a pair of ballet flats. I am definitely going to add more flats to my closet, but I still love my heels. I do want to say that I have a new found respect for these little shoes and perhaps I even misjudged them.

Clutch is the word

I keep seeing all these cute little clutches, either in Target or at the mall, even online. Pinterest has many cute pins of clutches. There is nothing too blingy to be a great clutch right now! Clutches are no longer those boring rectangular pieces of fabric meant to hold things. I found some great clutches that can be worn day and night. Take a look!

Diane Von Furstenberg animal clutch $249
Ok, I have posted this little charmer before, but I absolutely LOVE it. This little bag is so cute and sassy.

Gucci chain clutch$1275
What else would expect from Gucci, an extravagant little bag. This is stunning.(yes I know it is pricey)

Christian Louboutin $1356
Following the Indian and far east trends this Christian Louboutin bag fits right in, and what else would you expect from someone who makes shoes into art.

Jimmy Choo $1518
I love Jimmy Choo, this little adorable bag would stop anyone in their tracks. So adorable and super chic.

Christian Audigier $59.00
This bag is edgy but not over the top, great for a day out. Wear jeans and a cute shirt. Awesome.

Dooney and Bourke $69
Ok, I am a huge Dooney fan, I think they have well made leather products and they last! I love this little bag!

Betsey Johnson makes just beautiful avante guard accessories but they are so affordable. Love her stuff!

Big Buddah $49.99
Big Buddah makes some great bags and they are always so cute!

Pencil Skirt loves!

What is it about pencil skirts that I just love? Is it the stylish and glamorous look of it, where the skirt can take a regular shirt and turn it into a work of art? Is it the simplicity of the skirt? Or, perhaps it is the traditional feel of the look. When paired with the right shoes, jewelry, bag, and make up this piece of clothing can make you feel like a sophisticated lady, or a sexy fashionesta. Who said a skirt had to be above the knee to be considered sexy or “hot”? This skirt is not the skirt of yesteryear.
Here are some great ideas!

Ellen Tracy dahlia pink tweed skirt $48!
So cute and classy this skirt is perfect for work or for a lunch date with the girls. Love this!

Lafayette 148 New York Debra Skirt. $149.00

This pencil skirt comes with a bit of a stretch. In fact this garment is made of stretch wool. Classic and can be dressed up or down.

Stretta black and mauve pecil skirt. $93.99
Feeling a little bold, wake up the office with this great skirt! Pair with a great bag and proper shirt this could be a great piece.

bebe ponte pencil skirt $89.00
Ok, I love this skirt! I love the detail of the leather at the top for just a perfect amount of rocker glam. My concern with this is no matter what, spaghetti sauce would end up on this, whether I am eating it or not.

Burberry pencil skirt. $259.00
I love Burberry! Whenever I see their ads or would walk by a store carrying this line, I would just want to touch everything and look. Their coats and bags are always a classic hit, and yet while so high fashion, their clothing and accessories are so simple. I want this skirt!
These skirts are so simple and basic, it is no wonder why they are a staple in many women’s closets. Certainly was one of mine(just not right now). Professional women or the stay at home mom, I do believe these skirts will stick around for a long time, just with some modern updates here and there.
